“Just got my copies of the book and I love the packaging and the feel of the cover. Dandelion Queen is such a powerful read and emotionally touching. It was such a relatable read for a first generation Indian-American growing up and navigating one's identity in a sometimes unforgiving world. Palak is such a beautiful writer. Her short stories Yellow Bakhris and ba's flowered kitchen took me back to my childhood with our grandparents and family. I was able to visualize the memories through her writing and could even smell and taste the bakhris! Some of my other favorite poems of hers include pinocchio, escapism, and fin. Reading through the book, it will take you through a variety of emotions from tears to laughter. The illustrations in the book are also very beautiful. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book immensely and look forward to reading more from such a gifted writer.”
